After installing Xtravision lamps and relays the '88 was still not putting enough light on the road for my liking. I have to drive a 2 lane road down by the US/Mexico border at 0330 out to the jail I work in, to say the least good lighting is a must! The solution comes in the form of glass "Euro" lights, I got these direct from Alleuro's website, I have heard they no longer stock these however. These lights and turn signals were about the same cost as having a used set shipped from overseas and they are new!! One possible issue, if you are in a state that has a rigorous anual inspection these may not work for you, they are not approved by the DOT for use in the US. Here in California we have no inspection of the car itself other than for smog. |

A front view of the completed project, I noticed the drivers side light was skewed when I took this pic, there is some leway in the mounting bolts, so it was an easy adjustment. The increase in light output is incredible, the low beams have a nice sharp cut off at the top to prevent blinding oncoming drivers and the high beams light up the road enough so you are not over driving the beams at 70+ mph. Try that with your stock lighting. |

A corner view gives a good look at the bi-color turn signal cover. Installation was very straight forward, full instructions were included, all that needed to be done was clip off the plugs for the old lights and use large crimp on (with solder) female spade terminals to connect the H-4 bulbs. I tried to get a set of before and after pics of the beam patterns but the film camera I use couldn't seem to function under those conditions, I'll grab the Sony Mavica down at work and try again. |
