The underside of the car had severe rust where the wiring bundle ran down beside the seat.  This had to be wirebrushed off with a 4 1/2" grinder with a wire wheel on it.
Here you can see the 1" access holes (#1) I cut into the platform the seat bolts onto.  These were necessary to get the Por 15 into the rusty area where the wiring ran.  I thought 1" was a good size, enough to get a brush in there, but not too big as to weaken the structure.  You can also see part of  the reinforcing piece (#2) I made to strengthen the front of the footwell.
All the gunk off and treated with Metal Ready.   To get the mesh to stick I painted the metal then let it dry for an hour, stuck the mesh up and put a lite coat of the silver over it.  The 1st layer of mesh got 2 coats of the silver then I added a second layer of mesh and 2 more coats of the silver "paint".

This is what it looked like after 2 layers of mesh and 5 or 6 coats of the silver, I put on about 3-4 coats of the black finish coat (chassis coat) and then treated it with a spray on undercoat.  Sad to say I got so excited at the prospect of having the car running again I neglected to take pictures of the finished product.  The tan colored stuff is a putty provided, it worked well to provide additional strengthening on the holes that were just covered with the mesh.
